 Meet Customer Expectations In Export Marketing

Though export market brings many opportunities, there are much challenges on the other hand and success will depend on a good preparation to meet customer expections in global markets.

Export MarketingIf an exporter cannot provide according to customers' expect in such as the product, quality, price, delivery and customer service, then they will change their mind and try to find other suppliers who they can deal as their expect. Thus, it's important to understand exporter has a good preparation since the beginning purchase order (PO).

Purchase Order: Once PO is received, the person in charged must check if buyer requirements in product description, quantities, payment terms, delivery dates and shipping details can be met. It is important to review it carefully to make sure all of the conditions of the order are acceptable and that you will be able to deliver the product as specified.

If there are any questions or concerns about the purchase order, or something needs to be amended, then contact to the buyer to make it clear first. It is better to be clear in the beginning than to have problems later on.

Production: Once purchase order is confirmed, production team must understand that there is possibility to produce and the products are well-designed to meet the tastes and trends expected market. If the buyers request to send sample before multiple production, send samples on time.


Quality Control: Mainly, quality control starts at Sample product and multiple production will follow according the sample standard. Then, the whole production line must be checked till final product to make sure it is used the right material, design, size etc... according to order specification.


Price: Although product price is based on the quality and design specification, production team must try to meet buyer target price since it is competitive. If the minimum price could not meet as expected by buyer, must negotiate since the beginning before any production.


Delivery: If like in handicraft industry, it is very difficult to meet delivery time since production based only on human and not like factory. In case, exporter might need find more producers or work over time like the factory. At the same time, it is very important to have well preparation of shipment, packaging and other necessary documents such as Country of Origin (COO), Custom Clearance Form and so on.

Service: Exporter must understand a fundamental idea of business principle in customer service according to thier related industry and do such as After-Sale Service, Quick response for any inquiry and keep other service promises to build trust, customer satisfaction and for long term business partners.
