Can you exceed the expectation?
Exceeding expectation is the earmark of leadership, excellence, and success for individuals and organization alike. It is true in all fields and at all levels.
People are so accustomed to the so-so service and mediocre performance. When you exceed expectation for your job, it raises the level of expectation throughout the organization. Then, you can become the change agent of your company.
If you are still doubtful of the power of exceeding the expectations, look around at your the real world in which you live. The best and most successful performers (the leaders) in every line of work and at every rung of the ladder do it.

Some of the examples are follows:
- The server at a restaurant who remember your preference, provide refills without being asked, and is willing to figure out separate checks for a party get bigger tips than a counterpart who merely keeps the orders straight and bring the foods as usual.
- The most successful salespersons are always the ones who, at the end of every workday, make one more call than expected. (That is more than 300 more calls a year. No wonder they lead in sales)
- The business (regardless of service or product) that do it right the first time every time and deliver more than expected, provide better product/service than expected, sooner than expected, for less than expected beat their competition every time.
These concepts are applicable to any existing job categories and in every conceivable type of organization, doing more than what is expected is the mark of the real leaders.
Doing enough to get through the day, every day, is ok. It is what most people do. But it won’t make you a leader. The best principle in business realize that success comes from surprising people by doing more than is requested or required.
In order to perform this, you need to know what you are expected to perform first, then exceed it, earn the reputation.
Leadership is communication. The highest level of achievements comes from the heart.
