 How To Do Effective Meeting - Sample

In every work, we have sorts of meeting to success or analyse business plan, productivities, operational process or any project either in small group or as big company. And most of the time, we are just participants in a meeting which is led by top managers or leaders only and we don't know how to lead a meeting if we are asked to do.

Here, the following 13 steps will be helpful for the first Meeting Leader and of course Managers could also get idea to have more meeting effectiveness.
  1. Gain knowledge of importance of careful meeting preparation.
  2. Plan a meeting agenda.
  3. Write meeting objectives.
  4. Design an opening statement of the purpose of the meeting.
  5. Write a means to inform participants about the meeting.
  6. Discuss and practice several meeting methods: brainstorming, agenda, free-field analysis, group consensus and the action register.
  7. Recognize some different personalities and learn some tips for handling some group interaction problems.
  8. Identify the difference between task funtions and group relations functions.
  9. Participate in a meeting with prepared notes and agenda.
  10. Gain knowledge of four meeting types: information sharing, gathering, problem solving, decision making and planning/strategizing.
  11. Describe the importance of follow-up after the meeting and be aware of the group method.
  12. Create an action plan for meeting effectiveness.
  13. Complete post work assignment to participants' satisfaction.
