If we look around the world today especially in the west like UK, Latin America, USA and etc, lots of people are talking about Fair Trade (information source from our Fair Trade Partners) and seems popular terms in trading as well.
At the same time, i personally come across many questions about: what do you mean by Fair Trade? How can we know your organization Fair Trade? Where your products come from? Who are your producers? And so on. In other meaning, they are trying to catch a clear image of the source which is truely Fair Trade.
And i would say there is no problem whenever they raise questions to our company which is Full Member of iFAT or WFTO (now).
But the question here is who are Fair Trade Organizations and fully registered according to international fair trade principles? Why? The main reason is that some buyers or importers start to confuse when they would like to buy or import fair trade products from suppliers or exporters who claim that their products are Fair Trade Products but without having any Fair Trade certificate and registered which is proved by international fair trade body.
Some individual/group or organization may work accordingly with Fair Trade Principles but unless it is registered and proved by International Fair Trade Committee, we can not call "Fair Trade Organization" since there are strict application process and principles which is totally different from ONLINE Membership Sign UP.
