I am sure you will have other ways to success in doing export marketing based on your product types, demographics, geographics segmentation (which i will post later more in detail) and etc.
But in general, all export companies have basic similarity in handling export products and below 10 rules will be helpful to success in export marketing.
1. Confirm the customer's order promptly (Do not ask your customers to be patient. They may change their mind and find other exporters if you can not reply as early as possible)
2. Provide customer your bank details and preferred method of payment (Choose the best and most convenient payment method between customer and your company. E.g. If you accept credit card online payment, make sure it is safe without any error OR provide other options like Bank Transfer)
3. Make the products exactly as specified (If your customer choose the product what you have, there is no problem. But if they request to modify with certain specification, follow exactly or otherwise they will not export anymore and both party lose time, money and labor)
4. Follow the labeling and packaging instructions (Make sure before you make shipment as it is instructed)
5. Impose strict quality control (I would say "Most Important" part to have quality control in your production line)
6. Pack the consignment adequately to avoid breakage (if you don't know how to pack well, better ask shipping agent to handle all process)
7. Meet the delivery date (if you can not meed deadline, be sure to inform the customers in advance)
8. Ship it by the methods requested (inform your customers about shipping methods options that you have and let them choose)
9. Send full and correct commercial documents (make sure all export documents are ready - e.g: custom clearance form)
10. Communicate any difficulties; clarify any uncertainties (if something is not clear, make sure to discuss with customers. Do not go on with what you think. Otherwise, you are working for nothing and lose everything)
